I Can’t Find the Sun
I can’t find the sun even though it is right above me. Using repetition in the shape of the sun, this pieces explores the challenge in looking at the “brighter side”, when you’ve spent a majority of your life in the dark.
Mars Remediation
“Mars Remediation” channels the complicated relationship humans have with the themes of Mars in astrology: anger, pain, desire, and drive. These aspects of life can be erratic in nature, which is reflected in this style and medium.
Fluid Senses
Inspired by the shapes, colors, and elements from the late 1960’s, this piece highlights the warmth of intimacy and sensuality. Photos were found from skin care catalogs and perfume advertisements.
Composition Studies
In my Creative and Visual Thinking class, I explored different methods of developing composition and layout. In this particular project, we selected artwork we were inspired by, sketched their abstract shapes and compositions, and created collages following the layout of the sketches.
